In this role you will leadprogram execution issue resolution and cross-functional alignmentacross theentire vehicle program ensuring delivery of complex vehicle systems in line with Scouts product timing quality and cost targets.You will operate at avehicle and system integration level acting as a central driver of transparency accountability and structured decision-making across R&D and cross-functional teams.

- Lead the development ofbottomup cost calculationsacrossvehicle main system teams (MSTs)and departments ensuring a robust and transparent financial baseline for R&D programs.
- Assess and validate theplausibility of budget requests ensuring alignment between detailed bottomup inputs and overall program targets.
- Consolidate andcommunicate approved budgets across MSTs and departments ensuring clarity of ownership and alignment with program objectives.
- Drivecostforecasting activitiesand track actualspendagainst approved budgets ensuring continuous visibility into financial performance.
- Perform ongoingbudget risk assessments identifying deviations trends and potential overruns based on actuals and forecasts.
- Establish and enforcefinancial governance and accountability holding MST and functional leaders (including VP-level stakeholders) accountable for budget adherence and financial commitments.
- Supportresource allocation decisionsaligned with project scope priorities and timing ensuring optimal utilization of financial and human resources.
- Monitor and trackprogress against Top Goals and KPIs ensuring alignment between financial performance and overall program success metrics.
- Identifycost-driven risks and trade-offs supporting data-driven decision-making across engineering product and business teams.
- Drivecross-functional alignment on financial assumptions priorities and recovery actionswhere budget gaps or risks arise.
- Support the preparation offinancial reporting dashboards and leadership materialsfor governance forums and executive reviews.
- Act as acentral coordination point for cost and governance topics ensuring consistency between planning execution and reporting.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of theScout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte NC.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required to support program activities testing and leadership reviews. Valid drivers license required.

- 12 years of professional experience in the automotive industry with a focus onprogram finance cost engineering controlling or program management.
- Bachelors in engineeringand proven experience developingbottomup cost estimates and managing program budgetsin a cross-functional environment.
- Strong understanding ofautomotive program financial structures including budgeting forecasting and cost tracking.
- Demonstrated ability toassess budget plausibility and challenge assumptionsusing data-driven analysis.
- Experience managingfinancial forecasting and actuals tracking including variance analysis and risk identification.
- Proven ability todrive accountability across senior stakeholders including influencing without direct authority.
- Experience inresource planning and allocation aligned with program scope and timelines.
- Strong analytical andstructured problem-solving skills particularly in financial performance and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability topresent financial insights risks and trade-offs to leadership.
- Proficiency withfinancial planning and reporting toolsand advanced Excel or equivalent analytical tools.
- Solid understanding ofcross-functional automotive development processesand their financial implications.
- Demonstrated AI literacy with the ability to leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g. analytics automation generative AI) to enhance forecasting accuracy reporting efficiency and decision-making.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus onaccuracy transparency and governance discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inautomotive controlling cost engineering or program finance leadership roles.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience working inAgile or hybrid development environments.
- Experience inEVarchitecturesor software-defined vehicle platforms.
- A good understanding of theVolkswagenPEPProduct development system.

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range $160000.00 - $192500.00
