Leads the daily operations of the electroneurodiagnostic (END) testing area ensuring that all compliance requirements and quality standards are met.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities resources and staff. Oversees orientation and training and serves as a resource to department staff.
- Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Conducts intraoperative monitoring and post-surgical monitoring of stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) during surgical procedures.
- Performs diagnostic electroencephalograph (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) procedures when not in the operating room. Performs neuromonitoring of routine and continuous EEGs.
- May perform Magnetoencephalography (MEG) procedures or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) procedures.
- Works under limited supervision with oversight focused on complex new assignments. Completes a variety of atypical assignments.
- Routinely checks status of EEG software troubleshoots and notifies appropriate service and user personnel when troubleshooting procedures fail.
- Maintains appropriate logs for statistical and accounting purposes and purposes and performs calculations for required reports.
- Assists in quality assurance monitoring environmental controls infection control standards equipment selection operation application and inventory.
- Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
- Maintains EEG EMG and MEG equipment and supplies.
- May provide input for hiring training leading and evaluating staff.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
EXPERIENCE
- Three years experience in electroneurodiagnostic procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
- Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms malfunctioning machinery etc.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent reaching gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional bending stooping crawling kneeling sitting squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving patients.
- Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Occasional driving.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
