Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:The Lead Teacher is responsible for administering child care programs at designated YMCA program sites. We have three vacancies available for Lead Teacher at the YMCA. This responsibility includes creating and implementing lesson plans maintaining site records and additional program responsibilities to ensure state licensure compliance and overall effective program management. This position may be required to travel to and from branch locations for assigned duties trainings or meetings or work programs in other areas as needed. This position is expected to be actively in childcare program 100% of the FUNCTIONS:Maintain safety of children by appropriately supervising program participants at all times while maintaining YMCA and state licensing staff to child age-appropriate techniques relative to the behavior management of develop and implement appropriate lesson plans and activities following YMCA curriculum guidelines and incorporate them into the daily and submit daily weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner as assigned by supervisor i.e. taking attendance CACFP a file system that will include all policies school year schedules ODJFS child day care rules child enrollment information and staff coverage of program as needed and arrange for substitute instructors in coordination with supervisor of any parent concerns or unsafe conditions at center as well as foster ongoing communication with supervisor regarding center with supervisor when essential supplies i.e. First Aid and blood borne pathogen protective equipment snack responsible for administering First Aid to children/staff if daily cleaning and maintenance of space/ with supervisor on promotional activities and with supervisor to develop and distribute site informational newsletters to YMCA and state quality guidelines in operating and maintain positive communication with and implement family activities/ YMCA by developing positive working relationships with program participants and be need to be named on the license & supports the Site Director in ensuring all licensing requirements are :Education & Certifications:Minimum high school diplomaCertification in CPR at the level of Basic Life Support or Professional Rescuer Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Administration and associated- determined safety training required within 30 days of :Minimum 2 years working in a licensed childcare experience WORKING with diverse populations 1-year experience working with Microsoft office 1 years experience with all ODJFS licensing procedures and Step Up to Quality requirements Skills and KnowledgeWillingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor branch executive risk management and human resources department (s).Passionate belief in the Ys cause of nurturing the potential of all youth supporting healthy living for all people and finding ways to help and support our to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the a clean and orderly work demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to administer the program fiscal and personnel policies of the association a person in this position must possess the insights and skills of modern management (ex.
