Lead Systems Engineer Flight Management Computing

GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to support our Flight Management Computing this role you will lead systems engineering activities across a portfolio of advanced avionics platforms driving alignment between customer needs technical requirements product design integration and verification.

This is a highly collaborative cross-functional role for an engineer who thrives in complex development environments and can balance platform commonality with program-specific needs across both military and civil applications. You will work closely with software hardware and program teams to ensure robust system definition disciplined execution and successful product integration from concept through production and operation.

The ideal candidate brings strong systems thinking technical leadership and sound engineering judgment with the ability to influence decisions manage tradeoffs and drive execution across multidisciplinary teams.

The location for this position is Grand Rapids MI on at least a hybrid basis (Tuesday Wednesday Thursday in office) : An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering efforts forFlight Management Computingprograms across military and civil platforms.
• Managecross-platform commonalityand program-specific system requirements to enable scalable high-quality product solutions.
• Own and driverequirements development allocation traceability verification and validationactivities.
• Partner closely withsoftware and hardware teamsto ensure system requirements are fully understood implemented and verified.
• Leadsystem integrationactivities across components subsystems and products to maximize performance operability and product quality.
• Define and managesystem and product requirements specifications and requirements flow-down to internal teams suppliers subcontractors and partners.
• Drivesystem-level verification and validation including support for integration and test strategy development.
• Manage keyinterfacesbetween components teams and execution organizations to ensure seamless product development and integration.
• Leadrisk trade study and CTQdecision-making to optimize system design and program execution.
• Supportconfiguration management and configuration controlactivities across the product lifecycle.
• Apply technical expertise and data-driven analysis to solve moderately complex engineering challenges and recommend practical solutions.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced engineers while helping build alignment and consensus across teams.
• Contribute to functional best practices continuous improvement and technical strategy within the systems engineering discipline.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of6 years of experiencein systems engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• This position requires U.S. citizenship status.

The base pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $173000.00 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factorsincluding the candidates experience education and skill position is also eligiblefor an annual discretionary bonus based on apercentage of your base salary/ commission based on the posting isexpected to close on 10/31/26.
