Lead Systems Engineer Avionics Networking

Help define the future of flight at GE Aerospace. As a Lead Systems Engineer - Avionics Networking you will play a key role in developing advanced networked avionics solutions that enable safe reliable and deterministic communication across next-generation aerospace platforms.

In this role you will lead systems engineering efforts for the Networking product line working across software hardware test safety reliability and certification teams to deliver high-integrity products from concept through verification and certification. You will help shape system architecture define and manage requirements drive integration and validation and support certification for highly complex airborne networking systems.

This position is based in Grand Rapids Michigan with a hybrid work arrangement requiring an on-site presence 2-3 days per week. A corporate relocation package is available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities for theNetworking product line ensuring strong system performance deterministic behavior end-to-end integration and operational robustness.
• Define decompose and managetraceable system requirementsfor advanced avionics networking capabilities includingTime-Sensitive Networking (TSN)andARINC-based communication standards.
• Manage requirements allocation and specification flow-down to modules components subcontractors and partner teams.
• Drivesystem-level and component-level verification and validation including development of verification strategies artifacts and supporting evidence.
• Lead product and systemintegration activitiesto ensure compatibility operability and performance across multidisciplinary development teams.
• Supportcertification strategy and executionfor safety-critical programs including participation in audits reviews SOIs and closure of certification findings.
• Coordinate cross-functional execution acrosssoftware hardware test safety reliability maintainability and certificationorganizations.
• Contribute to technical reviews including design and code reviews related to avionics network switch and communication system development.
• Manage interfaces between subsystems teams suppliers and customers to ensure alignment on requirements interoperability and compliance plans.
• Driverisk identification trade studies and issue resolutionto support quality schedule and cost commitments.
• Mentor less experienced systems engineers and contribute to engineering best practices process improvement and technical strategy within the organization.
• Engage with customers and external partners to support technical discussions requirements alignment and product differentiation efforts.
• Travel up to10%as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree inEngineering Aerospace Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or another related STEM fieldfrom an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of4 years of experienceinsystems design development integration verification or validation.
• Strong understanding ofnetworking fundamentals includingIP addressing Ethernet VLANs switching routing and network topology.
• Ability to work fromGrand Rapids MIwith a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of3 days on site per week (Tuesday-Thursday).
• This position requires U.S. citizenship status.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withTime-Sensitive Networking (TSN)technologies includingIEEE 802.1AS 802.1Qbv 802.1Qci and 802.1DP.
• Experience withARINC A664andARINC 615A.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and networking protocols such asQoS NTP DHCP FTP/TFTP/SNMP SSH and IPSec.
• Familiarity with engineering tools such asCameo Teamwork Cloud IBM DOORS and RTC/EWM.
• Experience working inDAL A or DAL Bdevelopment and certification environments.
• Experience interfacing directly with customers certification authorities suppliers or external technical stakeholders.
• Experience with technical planning estimation or proposal support.
• Strong communication collaboration and technical leadership skills.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced cross-functional engineering environment.

The base pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00 DOE. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factorsincluding the candidates experience education and skill position is also eligiblefor an annual discretionary bonus based on apercentage of your base salary/ commission based on the posting isexpected to close on 10/31/26.
