As part of the Undergraduate Student Affairs team youll develop programs experiences and communications that build community celebrate our students and strengthen their connection to Marshall throughout their undergraduate journey.

Youll also serve as the primary content strategist and manager for Marshall Undergraduate Programs social media presence sharing the stories accomplishments opportunities and moments that make up the Marshall undergraduate experience. Along the way youll collaborate with students and colleagues across Marshall and USC support broader student engagement initiatives and have the opportunity to bring new ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning implementation and assessment of the Marshall Experience Program creating meaningful opportunities that foster student engagement belonging and school pride.
  • Develop and execute signature events leadership initiatives and co-curricular programs that enhance the undergraduate student experience.
  • Serve as the primary strategist and manager for Marshall Undergraduate Programs social media channels creating engaging content and communications that showcase student life and promote key initiatives.
  • Collaborate with students faculty staff and campus partners to develop innovative programs and strengthen the Marshall community.
  • Design and facilitate workshops orientations and educational programming that support student development and success.
  • Assess program effectiveness using participation data and student feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support student engagement initiatives including advising Marshall Recognized Student Organizations and student leaders as assigned.
  • Manage program budgets event logistics and related administrative responsibilities while ensuring effective stewardship of university resources.

What Were Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Masters degree or combined education and experience as a substitute for the minimum education requirement.
  • Three years of directly related professional experience in student engagement student programs higher education communications or a related area.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders while exercising diplomacy sound judgment and discretion.
  • Proficiency with technology and communication tools used to support program management and student engagement.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Higher Education Student Affairs Leadership or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in student engagement higher education campus programming communications or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success planning and executing student programs events and engagement initiatives.
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts and developing creative multi-platform communications.
  • Excellent communication project management and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Google Workspace Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite and social media management tools.
  • A creative collaborative and student-centered approach with a passion for building community and enhancing the student experience

Salary and Benefits:

The annual base salary range for this position is $77436.75 - $103598.51. When extending an offer of employment USC considers various factors including the scope of responsibilities the candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity and external market considerations.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum educations: Masters degree.
