Lead School Psychologist

Executive Director of Special Education

The Lead School Psychologist serves as the district liaison and professional leader for school psychologists. The Lead supports the implementation of comprehensive school psychological services promotes compliance with federal and state regulations assists with Medicaid initiatives and provides mentoring and technical assistance to school psychologists across the district.

• Serve as the district lead for school psychology services.
• Assist the Executive Director of Special Education with the implementation and monitoring of school psychology services district-wide.
• Provide mentoring guidance and support to district school psychologists.
• Assist with the orientation and onboarding of newly hired school psychologists.
• Facilitate regular meetings with school psychologists to review district initiatives procedures and best practices.
• Promote consistency in evaluation practices eligibility determinations report writing and compliance procedures.
• Assist in monitoring timelines and compliance requirements related to evaluations reevaluations and eligibility determinations.
• Support implementation of district Medicaid procedures and expectations.
• Provide training and technical assistance regarding Medicaid documentation billing requirements and psychological service delivery.
• Review discipline-specific billing reports denial reports and trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Assist with internal audits corrective actions and program reviews.
• Collaborate with administrators special education coordinators and district leadership regarding service delivery and compliance concerns.
• Assist with the development and implementation of district procedures forms and guidance documents related to school psychological services.
• Communicate updates regarding state and federal regulations district initiatives and professional practices to staff.
• Participate as a member of the District Medicaid Leadership Team.
• Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education.

• Current West Virginia certification/licensure as a School Psychologist.
• Minimum of three years of successful experience as a school psychologist preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of IDEA special education procedures evaluation practices and school-based Medicaid preferred.
