Job Title: LeadRegistered Dental Assistant
Department: Operations
Reports to: Dental Practice Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation Information: $28.00-$33.00 per hour depending on experience and licensing

Position Summary
As the Lead Registered Dental Assistant you will assist the doctor with all dental
procedures including but not limited to taking directions from the doctor anticipating
the doctors needs. Other duties are as outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficient operation of the office by overseeing patient flow and
  • managing the scheduling of Chairside Dental Assistants in collaboration
  • with the Office Manager.
  • Understand and monitor the responsibilities of clinical staff recognizing
  • performance and implementing procedures in conjunction with the Office
  • Manager Dental Director and Regional Director.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and supplies for clinical and laboratory
  • materials ensuring proper procedures are followed and obtaining
  • necessary approvals.
  • Lubricate and maintain handpieces and ensure all sterilization equipment
  • functions properly.
  • Delegate responsibilities to the Assistant Clinical Coordinator (if assigned)
  • and chairside Dental Assistants providing evaluations and following up on
  • assignments.
  • Report any issues regarding supplies instruments or equipment to the
  • Office Manager Dental Director and Regional Director.
  • Match lab receipts and invoices with lab cases ensuring proper logging
  • and forwarding to the Comptrollers office and confirm that lab slips are
  • signed.
  • Review and update the Emergency First Aid Kit every three months and
  • maintain logs for disinfectant solution changes.
  • Check the status of nitrous and oxygen tanks dental equipment and
  • operatories ensuring everything is in working order.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding safety sterilization and instruments
  • and be prepared to assist with related questions.
  • Ensure all dental and sterilization equipment is turned off at the end of
  • the day and submit weekly repair and equipment lists to Corporate.
  • Place timely orders for supplies and assist the Office Manager with
  • additional tasks as needed.

  • the Providers needs


Qualifications

  • Applicable licensing required for the state in which you will work:
    • For NJ- Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license
    • For MD- Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license
    • For PA- Radiation Health and Safety certificate
  • Certified Dental Assistant certificate required
  • Registered Dental Assistant License required
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excell
  • One or more years DA experience

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk and use hands and arms to operate general office equipment (PC telephone file cabinets copier fax machine and printer). The employee may occasionally lift and/or move between 10 and 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee may need to travel to healthcare practices.
