Job Description

We are looking for a Project Engineer to lead assigned capital projects and manage engineering design and construction resources within a manufacturing plant environment.

What Youll Do

• Lead assigned capital projects (standalone projects and projects within plant outages) and manage all engineering design and construction resources
• Develop estimates funding documents schedules and ongoing forecasts for plant-executed projects within SAP
• Ensure all projects receive adequate process hazard reviews and ORIs and ensure timely completion of recommendations
• Ensure inherent process safety is adhered to on all project designs
• Provide field supervision and support during project execution
• Manage project safety ensuring compliance with all safety standards and goals
• Maintain projects within budget and schedule constraints
• Ensure all projects meet the operability needs of the customer
• Conduct Safety Kickoff Meetings with contractors and operations teams before project execution
• Confirm contractors are aware of and follow all client Safety Standards
• Clearly communicate safety goals: 0 Recordables 0 First Aids
• Complete short-term contractor BSP forms daily during project execution
• Complete JSA reviews and fill out JSA Review forms daily during project execution
• Participate in the Safe Work Permit issuance process with the operations team
• Lead daily morning safety/toolbox meetings with all crafts
• Report all incidents immediately
• Ensure all contractors on-site for project execution have submitted an Emergency Action Plan prior to mobilization
• Participate in Safety Sampling and Critical Safety Audits during outages
• Attend and contribute to monthly Safety Meetings

What Youll Need

Required:

• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Strong leadership abilities
• Experience in manufacturing plant operations maintenance and capital projects
• Technical degree in Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card Security Passport and pass refinery background checks (TWIC card must be current and valid for project completion)

Preferred:

• Familiarity with quality standards as outlined by client

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal state and local standards
• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer utilizing a mouse keyboard and monitor
• Must be able to communicate with customers and team members over the phone and in person
• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the site to attend meetings or oversee projects
• Willingness to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours following strict fatigue management guidelines
• Travel required as much as 15-25% depending on the project
