Reference: Job #
Dhaka Technologies Limited Company is hiring on behalf of its client for a Lead Optical Engineer to support the design analysis and development of advanced optical and electro-optical systems for aerospace and defense applications. The position supports space-based programs where stray light suppression radiometric accuracy and overall optical performance directly influence mission success.
This role is centered on stray light analysis and control methods with primary responsibilities in optical system modeling performance analysis and non-sequential evaluation to ensure mission-critical system performance in challenging operational environments. The successful candidate will support active and passive imaging payloads across design test and verification.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in optical system engineering and experience with complex imaging or sensing systems across design test and verification.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform stray light analysis and develop control and mitigation strategies for optical and electro-optical systems.
- Identify stray light sources and assess their impact on overall optical system performance.
- Build and maintain optical system models including non-sequential evaluation of imaging and sensing payloads.
- Conduct optical performance and radiometric analysis in support of active and passive imaging payloads.
- Support the design manufacture integration test and sell-off of space-based EO/IR subsystems.
- Work with optical metrology equipment and phase retrieval techniques during test and verification activities.
- Develop analysis scripts and automation using MATLAB and Python.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 7 years of prior related experience.
- 2 years of relevant experience with optical stray light analysis tools such as FRED.
- Ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
