Lead Mechanic Technical Services

Position SummaryTheLead Technical Services Mechanicperforms skilled maintenance work in the inspection repair and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plant equipment and machinery including pumps valves air compressors and rotating supervise a group of mechanics on special jobs or work position is split between the office and field ResponsibilitiesMaintains the various water and wastewater treatment purification and production related equipment and facilitatesmechanical repairs necessary to keep equipmentoperatingin an efficient with water and wastewater operations personnel to assure critical equipment is operationaland is repairedtimelywhen be asked toassistother departments with various task during emergency repairs or routine all routine preventative maintenance tasks as specified in the equipment operations and maintenance routine repair and preventative maintenance tasks on other equipment as safe work practices through proper use of safety equipment and procedures including permit required confined space entry and lock out tag a team of mechanics on special jobs or work employees with troubleshooting and repairing of for evaluating quality of work performed by subordinate for ensuring subordinate employees receive required sourcessuppliesand parts as breaks down machinery for repair and maintenance including motors chain drivers usingappropriate handand /or power also work on hydrologic and pneumatic systems or pieces of PVC work and pipefitting as have to fabricate and mills specialty berequiredto be on a rotational ONCALL status to respond to NTMWD repairs outside of normal business hours must be able to work overtime when other duties as RequirementsEducation & Experience:Mustpossessa high school diploma or years of experienceasamechanicsome of which is preferred to have been around water and wastewater machinery and Water / Wastewater license schooling or certifications a valid Texas Drivers Skills & Abilities:Must be able to read and understand technical manualsschematicsand have the ability tocomprehend carryoutand administer written and oral instructionas well as give oral and written instruction to subordinates so thatobjectivesare clearly be able to delegate work to subordinates inaclear manner so that work is completed in the mosttimelyefficientand safe become proficient in the use of the District Computerized Maintenance Management have the ability to read operations and maintenance manuals schematicsblueprintsand safety data knowledge of mechanicalhydraulicand pneumatic systemsand their normal operating have exceptional troubleshooting skills tofacilitateprompt efficient repair or prompt handoff toappropriate departmentif not and Physical Working ConditionsDriving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current valid and vehicle - appropriate driver s license of their resident position requires continuous physical exertion often of a strenuous or pulls/pushes 50 poundson a daily basisand up to 100 pounds on a weekly basisin order torepair and service pumps motors and machinery while using various hand tools and and power tools including drill press and lathe welding equipment pickup truck emergency lighting equipment safetyequipmentand crane.
