Lead Maintenance Technician

Position SummaryThe Lead Maintenance Technicianperforms plansandorganizes the maintenance of wastewater facilitiesand associated systems including but not limited to headworks liquids treatment solids handling odor control structures SCADAandlift Lead Maintenance Technician performs andsupervisesa variety of work assignments to ensure acceptable asset conditionandwater qualityand health and safety standards are met or ResponsibilitiesPlans and conducts facility maintenance including proactive and reactive repair and renewal activities and asset condition leads mentors and evaluates staff. Leads by example. Acts as a positive role model for facility an environment of Integrity Trust Respect Unity Safety and and manages service requests and work orders for needed repairs. Manages work backlog and logs and records in both written and electronic form to ensure accuracy and completeness. Uses these records to diagnose issues and perform root cause reviews and revises predictive and preventive maintenance plans for facility reviews and revises job plans to ensure safe and consistent work safety policies and guidelines as required by State statutes and as prescribed by NTMWD. Ensures safe work practices are followed. Encourages others to improve workplace the facility for any breaches of security and alert appropriate law enforcement agencies and/or supervisors as appropriate for the relevant information during emergencies and scheduled shutdowns. Troubleshoots diagnoses and reports problems. Responds to emergencies. Participates in repairs clean-up and to stakeholder inquiries regarding asset maintenance and performance in a timely and effective facility and work area shipments monitors unloading processes checks shipment documents for accuracy and ensures documents are submitted to appropriate personnel. Performs inventory control and staff on and ensures compliance with applicable policies and the responsibilities of direct supervisor(s) and subordinates as required to ensure continuity of other duties as RequirementsEducation & Experience:Possess a high school diploma or GED. An associate degree or trade certification is four (4) years of experience in industrial maintenance or a suitable combination of directly relevant education and experience as determined by is to obtain a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification from the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals or similar is to obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Wastewater or Water Treatment or Collection or Distribution System Operators is to obtain certification as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) from the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals within three (3) years of a valid Texas Drivers a District vehicle for NTMWD business will be required. Must maintain a current valid and vehicle - appropriate driver s license of resident Skills & Abilities:Maintain knowledge of maintenance and reliability practices and principles and awareness of wastewater assets and their the ability to troubleshoot equipment typically used in wastewater ability to supervise effectively both written and verbally with supervisors peers and basic computer and Physical Working ConditionsDriving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current valid and vehicle - appropriate driver s license of their resident duties and responsibilities are generally performed in a wastewater treatment environment. The position involves sitting (up to 6 hours per day) frequent standing frequent walking light to heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.) light carrying frequent bending and reaching keyboarding and telephone operation. It often may an irregular work schedule and overtime hours. Specific physical conditions require frequent work with chemicals tools machinery moving mechanical parts duties and responsibilities are performed both indoors and outdoors. Moderate to heavy exposure to sun dirt dust pollen odors wetness humidity biological hazards rain temperature and noise extremes hazardous materials and chemicals machinery moving mechanical parts vibrations electric currents traffic hazards and water hazards are common. Performs and reviews work at locations that involve hazardous environments requiring the physical ability to wear and work using personal protective equipment (PPE) that meet or exceed guidelines such as established by OSHA which may result in some physical discomfort due to temperature dust odors chemicals and noise.
