Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to support a large commercial and industrial campus environment. This role is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and building systems across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial HVAC experience controls knowledge and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Schedule
- Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
- On-call rotation every 5 weeks (typically introduced after the first few months)
- Free onsite parking provided
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain facility operations to ensure buildings remain safe secure and fully operational
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems controls power systems and mechanical equipment
- Support and maintain building automation and building management systems (BMS)
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on:
- Chillers
- Boilers
- Pumps
- HVAC equipment
- Controls systems
- Mechanical systems
- Work with large tonnage equipment ranging fromton units
- Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed
- Perform general maintenance including basic plumbing carpentry and facility repairs
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as necessary
- Move office furniture equipment and materials when requested
- Assist with oversight and coordination of a team of approximately 5 employees
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records
- Support a collaborative team-focused work environment
Qualifications
- 10 years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC maintenance experience
- Strong background with:
- HVAC systems
- Electrical systems
- Building controls
- Building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and controls systems in commercial facilities
- Well-rounded knowledge of pumps boilers chillers and associated equipment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
Preferred Certifications
- EPA Universal Certification strongly preferred
- LME (Limited Mechanical Engineer) or LEB (Low Pressure Boiler Engineer) licenses are a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
