Lead HVAC Tech

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the installation service maintenance and repair of HVAC systems across commercial residential and healthcare facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing field operations leading technicians and apprentices ensuring project success maintaining safety and quality standards and delivering outstanding customer service.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled HVAC professional with strong troubleshooting abilities leadership experience and a commitment to safety quality workmanship and team development.

• Lead and perform HVAC installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair activities for heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical electrical controls refrigeration and airflow issues.
• Inspect test and evaluate HVAC equipment wiring controls ductwork refrigerant systems and related components.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and system performance evaluations to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints specifications schematics construction documents and technical drawings.

• Lead field teams and coordinate daily work assignments to ensure projects are completed safely efficiently and on schedule.
• Serve as the primary field contact for customers subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress labor utilization material requirements and overall job performance.
• Review completed work to ensure compliance with company standards customer expectations and applicable codes.
• Resolve technical issues and project challenges while maintaining productivity and quality.

• Mentor train and support HVAC technicians and apprentices.
• Promote technical skill development safety awareness and adherence to company procedures.
• Foster a positive team environment focused on accountability continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations NFPA 70E requirements lockout/tagout procedures PPE standards and company safety policies.
• Maintain a safe work environment by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Complete required documentation including service reports inspections work orders and equipment recommendations.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication and problem-solving.
• Manage customer expectations and provide recommendations for equipment repairs upgrades and preventative maintenance solutions.
• Respond to emergency service requests and travel to customer sites as needed.

• State Journeyman HVAC License required; Master HVAC License preferred where applicable.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC installation maintenance and service experience.
• Proven experience leading HVAC technicians apprentices or field crews.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to work independently and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems controls refrigeration electrical components and building automation systems.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations NFPA 70E and HVAC safety best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication customer service and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must provide personal hand tools.

• Master HVAC License.
• Healthcare hospital or critical environment HVAC experience.
• Experience with commercial refrigeration systems.
• Building automation systems (BAS) or controls experience.
• Additional HVAC certifications EPA certifications or manufacturer training.

• Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders work from heights and access mechanical spaces.
• Ability to stand walk bend kneel crouch and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
