Lead Engineer Combustion Aerothermal

A mechanical or aerospace engineer with gas turbine combustor experience who will contribute to and collectively own the aerothermal aspects of the design development testing emissions capability and operability of GEs industrial gas turbine aeroderivative combustion systems. The role entails fast-paced diverse engineering deliverables in both hands-on and desk/computer contexts including exposure to all elements of the engineering cycle: design hand-calcs flow-modeling lab work CFD full temperature & pressure testing probabilistic analysis & data reduction and verbal & written presenting of data/conclusions.

Roles and Responsibilities

• You will design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
• You willbe responsible for completing procedures design templates and other standard work methods using hand calculations test data and good engineering judgment to justify designs against acceptance criteria.
• You will have autonomy to make decisions with a defined addition you will consult and seek support from more senior members when necessary to accomplish defined work/priorities.
• You will effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews.
• You will protect the IP rights of the Company and agree to the overall business priorities: 1. Safety 2. Quality 3. Delivery 4. Cost and prioritized in this order.
• You will use prior experience good engineering judgment and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks and will be co-located with a team having similar goals with multiple resources internal and external to your own team to arrive at engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum4 years of engineering experience in the industry.

Desired Characteristics

• A Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or closely related engineering discipline
• Minimum of4 years of experience in gas turbine design
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in combustion design

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $89300.00 and $148700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
