OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to architect build and evolve the foundational data platform that powers analytics real-time decisioning and operational intelligence across Alo.

This role is for a deeply experienced builder who has designed production-grade data systems end to endfrom event ingestion and transformation to modeling serving and governanceand understands how to make them reusable reliable and scalable.

You will define the technical backbone for how teams ingest process and act on data across both batch and real-time systems enabling marketing automation inventory intelligence and order fulfillment visibility.

REQUIREMENTS

• Architect and own the end-to-end data platform primarily on AWS

• Design and scale event-driven architectures using Kinesis Kafka or similar

• Build and evolve Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)

• Develop ELT pipelines using dbt and modern warehouses (Redshift BigQuery Snowflake)

• Enable real-time marketing use cases (segmentation triggers personalization)

• Design systems for inventory intelligence and allocation optimization

• Build pipelines for order lifecycle and SLA insights

• Establish standards for data modeling testing CI/CD and observability

• Enable analytics via Tableau and ThoughtSpot

• Partner with cross-functional teams across business domains

• Act as technical leader and mentor across engineering teams

QUALIFICATIONS

• Platforms & Infrastructure

  • Cloud platforms (AWS GCP Azure)

  • Event-driven and streaming architectures

  • CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code

• Data Engineering

  • dbt SQL Python

  • Batch and real-time pipelines

  • Medallion architecture

• Analytics & Data Products

  • Tableau and ThoughtSpot

  • Semantic layers and KPI standardization

• Experience

  • 6-8 years in data engineering or platform engineering

  • Experience with large-scale data platforms

  • Retail/e-commerce experience preferred

The base salary range for this position is $180000-$250000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location experience and performance. As such on occasion and when applicable there is the possibility that the final agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the companys total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses long term incentives a PTO policy and many other progressive benefits.
