We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst with deep expertise in the U.S. power and energy trading industry.


The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of ISO/RTO electricity markets and the complete power trading lifecycle working closely with traders scheduling teams settlements risk management and IT.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gather and document business requirements for energy trading initiatives.
Analyze and improve end-to-end trading processes from pre-trade analysis through settlements and reconciliation.
Collaborate with trading scheduling risk settlements and technology teams to deliver system enhancements.
Create BRDs user stories process flows data dictionaries interface specifications and acceptance criteria.
Support integration with ISO/RTO market systems including bid submissions market awards telemetry meter data pricing and settlement files.
Participate in backlog grooming roadmap planning and functional design discussions.
Develop and execute test plans and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Validate trade data pricing positions P&L and settlement calculations.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
10 years of Business Analyst experience.
Strong experience in the Energy Utilities or Power Trading industry.
Hands-on knowledge of one or more U.S. ISO/RTO markets including:
PJM
ERCOT
MISO
CAISO
NYISO
ISO-NE
SPP
Solid understanding of the complete power trading lifecycle including:
Pre-trade analysis
Trade capture
Day-Ahead Markets (DAM)
Real-Time Markets (RTM)
Scheduling and nomination
Risk P&L and position management
Settlements and invoicing
Reconciliation and exception handling
Experience creating business analysis artifacts and leading UAT.


IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Strong understanding of U.S. electricity markets and energy trading operations.
Ability to work effectively with traders scheduling settlements risk and technology teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience translating complex energy trading processes into clear business and functional requirements.
