Laser Test Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute characterization and qualification tests test plans and test systems for laser diode modules multi-laser light engines and laser measurement devices.
• Build and test laser laser system and measurement assemblies using procedures instructions or communication.
• Analyze results from tests prototype builds and models.
• Work in conjunction with other development engineers to develop written test and assembly procedures and suggest improvements to these procedures based on build process test results and analysis.
• Using results of tests and analysis develop additional tests for root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Complete project assignments to schedule in a multi-project environment.
• Support the transfer of new products to manufacturing.

Requirements

• B.S. or higher degree in Optical Engineering Electrical Engineering Applied Physics or a related discipline.
• 5 years optical and laser test experience in new product development environment.
• Working knowledge of laser safety and experience operating lasers and measuring laser beam parameters.
• Knowledge and experience with statistical data analysis tools and problem-solving methods.
• Knowledge of LabView Python or other programming language for test automation is a plus.
