Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Laser Programmer and Operator will be responsible for safely the programming setup and operation of production and prototype parts on a CNC laser.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Programs cuts and inspects production and prototype parts using a CNC controlled laser.
Safely retrieves and loads material from receiving department.
Works with Short run Inspection and Design personnel to ensure quality parts.
Adjusts and monitors machine parameters for proper operation.
Assists with cleaning maintenance housekeeping and other department functions as needed.
Maintains a clean safe and orderly work area.
Reads and interprets calipers micrometers and blueprints.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have strong Windows PC experience and be able to learn programming.
Must be able to read and interpret calipers micrometers and blueprints.
Must follow written and verbal instructions.
Must have good basic math skills.
Ability to maintain database and written records of completed work and inspection records.
Ability to communicate and work with people in office factory and inspection.
Must work well independently and in a team environment.
MUST be safety oriented.
Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
Ability to read blueprints and various measuring tools.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in adapting setups.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to maintain correct tolerances and quality specifications.
Education and Experience:
1-3 years of work experience or equivalent training preferred
Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods working on feet using tools and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Visual acuity to read instructions operate machines and inspect parts produced.
Must wear safety glasses.
