Lactation Peer Counselor

Are you passionate about supporting parents and promoting breastfeeding Do you enjoy connecting with your community and making a meaningful impact Were looking for a compassionate and motivated Lactation Peer Counselor to join our WIC team!

In this role youll provide encouragement education and hands-on support to pregnant and breastfeeding individualshelping them feel confident and empowered throughout their journey.

• Provide one-onone and group breastfeeding support to WIC participants in clinic home or hospital settings
• Offer culturally responsive care tailored to each familys needs.
• Serve as a trusted resource for staff and community partners on lactation topics
• Document services accurately and maintain participant records
• Support WIC operations including client intake eligibility screening and benefit distribution
• Connect families with community resources and referrals
• Assist with outreach efforts to expand program awareness
• Collaborate with a supportive team and participate in ongoing supervision and development

• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous exprience with breastfeeding is required.
• A strong commitment to breastfeeding advocacy
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Organized detail-oriented and able to manage time effectively
• A team player who values diversity equity and inclusion
• Willingness to complete Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) training after hire
• Valid drivers license reliable vehicle and auto insurance
