- Under the direction of the Laboratory Director the Laboratory Manager oversees the daily operations of their department(s).
- Manages staffing needs of the department by helping the team prioritize the work and allocate resources appropriately.
- Responsible for developing department(s) operational budget and productivity performance reviewing variances and leveraging resources to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Supports implementation of market specific and/or enterprise level changes through effective leadership and change management.
- Ensures their department(s) and the laboratory meet or exceed all regulatory requirements.
- Uses data and leverages best practices whenever possible to solve problems and investigate quality concerns
- May be required to assist with frontline collections processing
Education:
- Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution is required.
- Bachelors degree in a chemical biological clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution is required.
Experience:
- 4 years of clinical laboratory experience is required.
- 1 year of previous leadership experience within a clinical laboratory is preferred.
