Job Summary
As an IDEXX Laboratory Lead you coordinate daily lab activities and provide training coaching and guidanceto the team. You act as an informational resourcefor your colleagues helping ensure that samples are processed and analyzed efficiently.
You will be a lead and a resource to other lab team members while also working as an individual contributor doing day-to-day laboratory bench work.

You will oversee the work of Laboratory Technicians in our Sample Management Department (though they will not be your direct reports).
You will coach and lead the work of others and help the team reach business goals.
You will coordinate the teams workflow.
You will problem-solve from trouble-shooting diagnostic analyzers to resolving situational workflow and challengeswith turnaround times.
You will use automated analyzers microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses injuries and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment.
You will perform diagnostic tests on blood urine fecal or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands every day.
You will set up and run lab tests and read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

Experience working in a Specimen Processing Specimen Accessioning or Sample Management Role in a fast-paced high volume work environment preferred
High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; a 2- 3- or 4-year degree in a science-related field is preferred
Experience using a microscope to review slides and identify the various elements of a sample
Ideally 3-5years experienceworking in a laboratory although training can be provided; experience setting up running reading lab tests and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes and / or clinical diagnostic analyzers) preferred
Attention to detail organized with the ability to multi-task in afast-pacedenvironment
Be a team-oriented worker
An ability to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab i.e. standing and sitting for extended periods of time phone & computer use extended reach lifting up to 50lb and specific vision ability (close color depth perception and ability to adjust focus)
This is a laboratory so there is potential exposure to biohazards agents known to cause zoonotic diseases and hazardous chemicals.
Target pay of$29/ hour dependent upon experience

You will be working 40 hours / week. The scheduled shifts will be Tuesday through Saturday Midnight - 8:30am. There is an every-other Sunday rotation with Sunday hours 10:30pm - 7am. Flexibility to stay longer as needed is a huge plus.
