Multiple Shifts Rate$24.00 to $27.00 per hour Overtime paid at 1.5x Federal holiday pay at 2.0x Weekly pay available DT-Trak Consulting Inc. is seeking experienced Phlebotomists to support the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston Texas. This position supports inpatient and outpatient laboratory services in a fast paced federal healthcare environment serving OverviewLong term federal contract assignment Full time coverage Day evening night weekend and holiday shifts available Hospital inpatient and outpatient setting Immediate and future openings ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and specimen collection procedures Collect blood specimens from inpatient and outpatient populations Perform difficult blood draws including geriatric and oncology patients Verify patient identity using approved patient identifiers Label and transport specimens according to laboratory procedures Process specimens and assist with accessioning duties Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance Follow VA infection control and safety procedures Deliver professional patient care and customer service RequirementsMinimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience Current Phlebotomy Certification required Current BLS Certification required Hospital experience preferred Experience with difficult sticks strongly preferred Strong communication and patient interaction skills Ability to work independently in a high volume setting Ability to pass fingerprinting and federal background investigation Preferred QualificationsVA or federal healthcare experience EMR and laboratory information system experience Experience in high volume specimen collection environments BenefitsCompetitive compensation Weekly direct deposit Medical benefits available Long term contract opportunity Opportunity to support Veteran patient care Apply today with DT-Trak Consulting Inc. to join a dedicated healthcare team supporting Veterans at one of the nations premier VA medical centers.
