The Laboratory Coordinator I under general supervision supplies maintains and organizes laboratory equipment. Prepares materials and trains teaching assistants.

Please Note: The salary is determined in accordance with the Universitys compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates education and experience within the assigned salary range for this position.


Responsibilities:

  • Teaches or assist in teaching general biology laboratory courses.

  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.

  • Coordinate laboratory prep and breakdown of teaching labs.

  • Maintain and monitor safety policies with EHS(safety forms disposal EHS audits.).

  • Maintain department equipment inventory and reporting. Maintain and monitor Account Activity binder of all accounts use for purchasing supplies and equipment for labs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Biology.

  • One year of related experience


Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and presentation applications.

  • Ability to identify assess and solve problems.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.


Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift light objects. Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
