Laboratory Assistant I Per Diem Flex MHM

Summary:

Prepares specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders via Laboratory Information Systems (clinical lab and/or anatomic pathology) verifying specimen acceptability.

** Flex schedule- Mix of evening and night shifts
- 1-3 days/week includes weekends

Responsibilities:

Provides laboratory customer service to include request for add-ons specimen collection information phlebotomy requests result inquiry clerical duties. Also maintains equipment and adequate stock of supplies. Maintains work area in a safe aseptic and organized with receiving identifying accessioning processing and transporting specimens.

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Complexity of Work: Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers. Basic knowledge of laboratory information systems. Requires critical thinking skills effective communication skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate Work Experience: No prior work experience required.
