Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Assistant with a Phlebotomy Certification for a 13-week contract assignment in Atlanta Georgia. This role is responsible for specimen collection processing and laboratory support functions to ensure accurate and timely testing services for inpatient outpatient and institutional accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Perform specimen collection procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations.
Handle laboratory data collection systems to ensure laboratory tests are accurately ordered cancelled and charged.
Process prepare and distribute specimens according to laboratory protocols.
Verify patient identification and specimen labeling accuracy.
Maintain quality standards and compliance with laboratory regulations.
Support laboratory workflow by handling non-technical specimen processing duties.
Ensure proper documentation and data entry within laboratory information systems.
Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to support patient care.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience within the laboratory specialty required.
Current Phlebotomy Certification required.
Previous experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) preferred.
Knowledge of specimen handling processing and laboratory safety standards.
