About the Role:
An established and highly respected litigation practice is seeking a Senior Labor & Employment Attorney to join its growing defense-side employment team. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney looking for meaningful client engagement sophisticated matters and long-term professional growth within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
This position offers the opportunity to independently manage complex employment matters while working alongside experienced litigators who value strategic thinking professionalism and quality advocacy. Attorneys in this role are trusted with significant responsibility direct client interaction and the ability to influence case strategy from inception through resolution.
The firm represents public entities municipalities and corporate clients in a wide range of labor and employment matters throughout California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and litigate labor and employment matters from inception through resolution
- Handle DFEH/CRD and EEOC charges PERB proceedings wage and hour disputes and employment-related litigation
- Advise public entity and corporate clients on HR compliance workplace policies employee relations and employment agreements
- Draft and argue motions conduct depositions and represent clients in hearings and court proceedings
- Negotiate settlements and advise clients on litigation strategy and risk management
- Serve as a trusted advisor on labor relations employee benefits and agency investigations
- Work directly with clients and build long-term professional relationships
Qualifications:
- Active California State Bar membership in good standing - required
- Minimum 7 years of substantive labor and employment litigation experience
- Defense-side experience strongly preferred
- Public entity or municipal experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of California wage and hour laws FEHA PERB and related employment regulations
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to confidently advise and communicate with clients and non-legal stakeholders
- Strong case management strategic thinking and independent judgment
- High level of professionalism integrity and accountability
Work Arrangement:
This role is based in downtown Los Angeles. Hybrid flexibility may be considered for the right candidate with work arrangements discussed during the interview process.
