Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Austin TX

A healthcare organization is seeking a compassionate and experiencedLabor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join its womens services team. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who are passionate about supporting mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth experience while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery

  • Perform patient assessments and identify changes requiring immediate intervention

  • Administer medications treatments and therapies as ordered

  • Assist with labor management delivery procedures and emergency obstetric situations

  • Support patients and families by providing education guidance and emotional reassurance

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate individualized care plans

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Assist with newborn stabilization and post-delivery care as needed

  • Promote patient safety and adherence to evidence-based nursing practices

  • Participate in discharge planning and patient education for postpartum recovery and newborn care

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Advanced Life Support and neonatal certifications preferred or ability to obtain

  • Previous Labor and Delivery or womens health nursing experience preferred

  • Strong assessment critical-thinking and communication skills

  • Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced clinical situations
