Lab Technician (Part-Time) – Austin Industrial (Bishop, TX)

Job Summary
Austin Industrial Inc. is currently seeking a part-time Lab Technician to be based in Bishop TX. This position supports laboratory operations by performing analytical testing maintaining equipment and records and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Perform all work in a safe manner using proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Analyze samples from unit operations and shipping
- Enter analytical data into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Release railcar truck and barge shipments to Shipping based on lab results
- Understand and follow minimum ISO laboratory requirements
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Perform vent hood inspections
- Maintain product retains and finished product SPC charts
- Maintain and perform general upkeep of laboratory analytical equipment
- Ensure laboratory housekeeping standards are met
- Inspect safety equipment and ensure readiness
- Calibrate instruments and perform response checks for quality and process control
- Prepare and standardize reagents
- Safely dispose of samples and chemicals in accordance with procedures
- Prepare samples for shipment and support DOT shipping requirements (as applicable)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic mathematical skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to complete all required on-the-job training within 4 months
- Part-time schedule: approximately 2040 hours per week
- Must be available to work weekends holidays and callouts as needed
- Ability to support vacation relief and operational coverage
