Job Summary

As a Lab Tech I you will perform laboratory tests on soils aggregates and HMA prepare reports and collect samples from jobsites and plants for a wide variety of transportation projects.
What are the core responsibilities for the role
- Work within a team of construction managers office managers inspectors and contractors to successfully complete the construction of projects
- Perform field sampling and testing and perform laboratory testing per UDOT AASHTO and ASTM and other agency procedures and processes
- Complete test reports and documentation per UDOT and other agency requirements for all testing performed
- Work alongside UDOT construction crew or other agency construction management personnel in an augmentation role
Qualifications Skills and Competencies:
- Certification under American Concrete Institute (ACI) as Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I required or UDOT equivalent
- Certification under WAQTC guidelines for Sampling and Density (SRDTT)
- Solid organizational verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
- Willingness to work on projects locally and travel between labs daily
- Willingness to work either day or night shift depending on construction schedules
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask
- 0-4 years of experience
