Job Summary
This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of Southaven Mississippi for on-site expectations
Provides technical leadership in the design implementation and evolution of clinical reference laboratory systems such as Laboratory Information Systems Quality Management Systems middleware and integration with lab automation and lab analyzers and external third-party systems. Works in partnership with technical architects to ensure that IT solutions are complete integrated and in alignment with Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL) strategy and technology roadmap. Monitors industry features and standards to provide input to both IT and MCL strategy. Analyzes MCLs overall enterprise architecture and compares it against industry standards and trends to proactively identify opportunities for new and better solutions in Information Technology.
Understands and documents core business processes and translates them into data flows between and outside of IT systems within Mayo Clinic Laboratories and to outside entities including MCL clients and third-party service providers. Fosters and creates partnerships with the clinical and business area to develop a solid knowledge base of the business area. Understands business strategy and designs the target business architecture based on industry standards.
Provides leadership in developing new system requirements and researching evaluating and selecting vendor solutions. Analyzes fit of potential application solutions within the architecture; leads discussion on readiness for implementation in Mayo Clinics environment. Obtains and communicates information pertinent to the selection of the appropriate mix of projects and programs to support business objectives.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of existing systems and certification in the vended application. Able to design develop or modify programs algorithms or rules using vendor command language or similar technology tools. May serve as a liaison for industry partnerships or as a Mayo Clinic representative in national industry events.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Business Systems Analyst to lead complex operational technical and strategic initiatives across clinical business and IT environments. This role partners with stakeholders throughout the organization to analyze business needs improve processes implement technology solutions and support enterprise architecture and application management efforts.
The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver effective communicator and experienced project leader with the ability to manage large-scale initiatives drive consensus and deliver innovative solutions that align with organizational strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Solution Development
- Gather analyze document and interpret complex business and technical requirements.
- Evaluate operational procedures systems and workflows to identify opportunities for automation efficiency and process improvement.
- Develop business cases proposals and implementation plans for IT solutions.
- Assess organizational readiness and solution fit for technology adoption.
- Design and document business processes workflows data flows and user personas.
Project & Implementation Management
- Lead and manage small- to large-scale projects across multiple departments.
- Develop project plans timelines work assignments and implementation strategies.
- Coordinate testing system integration deployment and post-implementation support activities.
- Balance competing priorities deadlines and resource availability while ensuring successful project delivery.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational objectives.
Leadership & Communication
- Build strong partnerships with clinical business and technical teams.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations facilitate consensus-building and drive issue resolution.
- Mentor team members and provide training and onboarding support for new employees.
- Contribute to the improvement of organizational standards tools templates and methodologies.
Enterprise Architecture & Technology Strategy
- Maintain knowledge of enterprise systems business processes and emerging technologies.
- Support enterprise architecture initiatives through business modeling and process analysis.
- Collaborate with technical architects to ensure solutions align with organizational strategy and technology roadmaps.
- Research evaluate and recommend vendor solutions and industry best practices.
- Monitor industry trends and represent the organization in external partnerships or industry events as needed.
Application & System Management
- Support system analysis design configuration testing implementation and optimization activities.
- Configure and validate enterprise applications and ensure data integrity.
- Lead efforts related to application enhancements integrations and vendor-supported technologies.
- Maintain expertise in vendor applications tools and healthcare technology systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business systems analysis project management and enterprise application support.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in complex organizational environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while leading collaborative teams.
- Experience with enterprise architecture concepts process modeling and systems integration preferred.
- Healthcare IT experience preferred.
- Relevant vendor certifications or technical certifications preferred.
This position is a limited-tenure role intended to support the formation launch and stabilization of a new company and laboratory. As the organization matures the role is expected to transition to a permanent infrastructure position within a separate company operating independently from Mayo Clinic Laboratories.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship/we will not transfer or sponsor a visa for this position. Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F1 STEM OPT extension program.
Qualifications
Masters Degree with 6 years experience
OR Bachelor Degree with 8 years experience
OR Associates Degree with 10 years experience.
Experience to include demonstration of the following areas: operations analysis information systems implementation system architecture and systems analysis.
Vendor application certification may be required
