Job Summary

This is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Our lab studies how cells behave in three-dimensional environments that better mimic native bone and joint tissue. We use 3D culture systems including hydrogels scaffolds spheroids/organoids to investigate how chondrocytes endothelial and synovial cells respond to biochemical and mechanical cues. We are looking for a motivated undergraduate to join the team and contribute directly to ongoing experiments.
- Maintain sterile cell culture technique for primary and/or immortalized cell lines
- Prepare 3D cultures
- Perform routine cell culture tasks: feeding passaging viability assays
- Assist with sample collection and downstream analyses (e.g. immunostaining qPCR microscopy)
- Record detailed accurate notes in lab notebooks and shared data files
- Attend and participate in weekly lab meetings
- Follow all lab safety protocols and institutional biosafety guidelines
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student at UND
- Completed coursework in cell biology genetics general chemistry analytical chemistry
- Reliable detail-oriented and comfortable following precise protocols
- Able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
- Prior wet-lab or cell culture experience
- Familiarity with basic microscopy or image analysis software
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
