Lab Assistant Dhasarathy Lab

• $15.00 hourly Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 20 hours per week

This is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Our lab studies how cells behave in three-dimensional environments that better mimic native bone and joint tissue. We use 3D culture systems including hydrogels scaffolds spheroids/organoids to investigate how chondrocytes endothelial and synovial cells respond to biochemical and mechanical cues. We are looking for a motivated undergraduate to join the team and contribute directly to ongoing experiments.

• Maintain sterile cell culture technique for primary and/or immortalized cell lines
• Prepare 3D cultures
• Perform routine cell culture tasks: feeding passaging viability assays
• Assist with sample collection and downstream analyses (e.g. immunostaining qPCR microscopy)
• Record detailed accurate notes in lab notebooks and shared data files
• Attend and participate in weekly lab meetings
• Follow all lab safety protocols and institutional biosafety guidelines

• Currently enrolled undergraduate student at UND
• Completed coursework in cell biology genetics general chemistry analytical chemistry
• Reliable detail-oriented and comfortable following precise protocols
• Able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
• Prior wet-lab or cell culture experience
• Familiarity with basic microscopy or image analysis software
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
