Currently we are seeking a L3 Support Tech Deskside for one of our clients that is a leading multination corporation.

Location: Huntsville AL

Duration: 12 Months

What Were Looking For

  • We are seeking an Infrastructure & Automation Support Engineer to support enterprise-wide automation initiatives and internal logistics systems within complex manufacturing environments. This role involves evaluating robotics technologies supporting implementation standards and ensuring reliable integration of AMR/AGV/VGV solutions with third-party fleet management systems and existing IT infrastructure.
  • The position requires hands-on infrastructure support across networking servers storage power and telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting robotic deployments at both networking and infrastructure layers supporting production environments and maintaining high system availability.

What Youll Be Doing

Infrastructure Operations

  • Perform pre-shift system checks across industrial control systems servers storage and network infrastructure.
  • Provide hands-on support for server and network hardware installations refreshes and break/fix activities.
  • Support preventative maintenance for power and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of plant floor networks data center and telecom infrastructure.
  • Perform wireless network audits and mitigate interference issues.
  • Monitor system alerts and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Monitor collaboration platforms for issues that may impact production.

Network Power & Cabling Support

  • Coordinate installation and repair of network drops and power connections.
  • Support approved change requests and infrastructure modifications.
  • Perform telecom room inspections including power temperature and checklist compliance.
  • Troubleshoot network and telecom systems including switch installations and port activations.
  • Conduct hardware checks prior to moves adds or changes.
  • Execute hot-swap operations on mission-critical equipment.

Administration & User Support

  • Provide escalation support for production incidents.
  • Support user access administration and file/folder permissions.
  • Conduct IT equipment inventory audits.
  • Assist with service restoration processes and incident bridges.
  • Support enterprise IT services as required.

Vendor & Site Coordination

  • Escort and coordinate external vendors for installations and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee onsite repairs and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Provide hands-on support for incidents or change tasks requiring onsite presence.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Create standardize and maintain technical documentation and process guides.
  • Support review and approval processes for standardized procedures.
  • Submit and manage change requests for infrastructure activities.

Project Support

  • Support infrastructure and application deployment projects system refreshes rack configurations and upgrades.
  • Provide support during planned non-production activities and shutdowns.

On-Call Responsibilities

Incident Response & Monitoring

  • Serve as first point of contact for production and escalation incidents.
  • Monitor alerts across infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Manage high-priority incidents and follow escalation procedures.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support as required.

Operational Support

  • Provide onsite support for incidents and change tasks requiring hands-on troubleshooting or vendor engagement.
  • Support planned maintenance windows and system shutdown activities.

Required Qualifications (Top Skills)

  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems application support processes and end-user device support.
  • Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals including OSI model and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Experience with network administration and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to support production-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting robotics technologies (AMR/AGV/VGV) and fleet management integrations.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial IT environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and data center best practices.
