(Korean Bilingual) Ocean Import Manager

Job Summary
About the Role
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end ocean freight operations for import and export shipments.
- Develop and maintain relationships with ocean carriers and trucking companies.
- Negotiate freight rates contracts and service agreements to optimize cost and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
- Monitor shipment schedules transit times and cargo status; proactively resolve delays disruptions and claims.
- Oversee documentation accuracy including bills of lading commercial invoices and customs filings.
- Lead train and supervise ocean freight staff; set performance goals and conduct evaluations.
- Analyze KPIs such as on-time delivery detention/demurrage and carrier performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales warehousing and distribution trucking customs) to achieve business objectives.
- Manage budgets and control costs related to ocean freight operations.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and service reliability.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in ocean freight operations freight forwarding or international logistics
- Prior supervisory or management experience required
- Proficiency in ERP platforms and MS Office
- Excellent communication problem-solving and organizational skills
- Bilingual in English and Korean
- Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business or a related field (preferred)
