For over 125 years Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children youth adults seniors and those struggling with mental illness. Older Adult Centers promote an active life for seniors. The centers aim to assist them to preserve their independence and health by offering various range of activities and services such as serving breakfast lunch health screenings social services educational workshops class exercises discussion groups games art classes lectures workshops organized outings and special OF THE JOBThe Kitchen Aide prepares and distributes congregate meals; cleans kitchen area and appliances; properly stores food items while maintaining sanitary and heath standards according to DOH and funding source regulations ensuring the food is stored and served at the proper temperature in accordance with NYC DOHMH regulations. The Kitchen Aide will be responsible for oversight of the kitchen inventory and supplies. Prepare and serve meals under according to NYC DOHMH regulations and ensure proper portion size Clean and maintain kitchen area and related food temperatures when delivered and before all food deliveries for freshness and correct amount on developing meals nutritional values labels. Package and distribute food in individual and report to the Program Director any changes to the prescribed menus or :High School Diploma or equivalency preferred but not DOHMH Food Handlers experience in a commercial kitchen preferred. Able to comply with nutritional and health safety standards. Computer literate Word Excel Internet and able to submit menus on line to preferred. Able to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. We offer competitive salary.
