POSITION SUMMARY:
The responsibility of this position is to provide a strong foundation of learning while promoting curiosity and passion for learning. The expectation for the position is to provide effective standards-based data-driven instruction to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational program that fosters achievement for all students. Teach social/emotional and other formative skills. This position requires a strong team member who engages thoughtfully with data-driven collaborative conversations as part of a professional learning community. Encourage parent/guardian involvement in student learning through open houses volunteering parent/teacher conferences etc. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a positive learning environment and effective management structures to purposefully promote and foster effective teaching learning and student achievement. Create an instructional learning environment that establishes routines and provides for student engagement through questioning speculation and originality. Collaborate with specialists and provide unique learning opportunities such as inclusion and research-based effective practices for students with special needs. Promote a learning environment that respects the dignity of the child which is perceived by students as fair and consistent. Incorporate additional learning opportunities for advanced and non-proficient students. Ensure all classroom processes procedures and data collection are highly organized and effective with optimal use of instructional time. Motivate engage and empower learners to track and monitor his/her learning.

Design develop and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments that incorporate contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and develop knowledge skills and attitudes aligned with 21st-century learning. Collaborate with educators from other grades or subject areas to establish links between disciplines and influence school-wide curriculum and teaching practice. Demonstrate mastery of content and is able to make the curriculum rigorous and relevant to all students. Deliver content that is relevant to students and applicable to the real world. Integrate and align Colorado Academic Standards instructional objectives instructional strategies learning activities materials resources and assessments and differentiate lesson planning based on individual student needs. Use data management tools to analyze results and draw inferences from data to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

Provide quality accurate constructive corrective specific and timely feedback to students that encourages them to perform at their highest level. Effectively communicate with parents and staff about students progress and opportunities. Utilize technology and/or other avenues to communicate with stakeholders (website podcasts etc.).

Actively participate in all staff meetings PLCs and other required events. Apply and implement knowledge skills and new understandings to improve instructional programming. Advocate for and lead initiatives that will enhance student success in and out of school. Use the professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making in practice.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possible supervision of support personnel.
Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to participating in interviews providing training/development assigning and directing work providing performance feedback addressing complaints and resolving problems.

BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently.
Create and implement effective and efficient process management strategies (e.g. procedures instructional groups transition materials and supplies).
Accurately projects the need for budget planning.
Maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards state guidelines and school system policy.
Review processes for improvement opportunities and make changes as needed to ensure the quality of instruction.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree.
Masters degree (preferred).
English fluency will be determined through the interview process and licensure.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Colorado Teaching License with Elementary Education endorsement.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent lifting 5 (five) to 10 (ten) pounds.

Frequent sitting bending walking and standing.
Occasional stooping kneeling squatting and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mostly clean and comfortable.
Occasional exposure to adverse weather.

SALARY:
Salary placement from $53464 - $103027 based upon education experience and Negotiated Agreement. Current Salary Schedule posted atSalary Schedules - Englewood Schools.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
New hires or rehires will be responsible for the fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Per the negotiated agreement all teachers who start after the students first day are temporary.
