Position Title: Kindergarten Teacher

Qualifications:

• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers elementary grades including Kindergarten
• Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in elementary education.

Terms of Employment:In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Work Year:In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education. Start Date: August 18 2026

Responsibilities:TheKindergartenTeacher has the followingresponsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by theBuilding Principal and/or designee:

• Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public Schools curriculum particularly the elementary disciplines.
• Develop and implement lesson plans unit plans and educational projects to ensure students academic development.
• Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)
• Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
• Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
