Job Summary
Position Title: K-2 Music Teacher
Location: Forest Heights Lower School ( 5538 Research Dr San Antonio TX 78240 )
Reports To: Headmaster
FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

Fine Arts at Great Hearts:
Fine Arts are not just electives but part of the core curriculum at Great Hearts: allstudents study music dramapoetryand studio art.
Music coursework includes both applied or performance foci as well as substantive music theory history and appreciation.
We boast a stellar faculty across the fine arts curriculum most of whom are professional artists and performers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth goodness and beauty.
- Provide appropriate academic support to students monitor progress and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
- Uphold and model the culture policies and expectations of Great Hearts including dress code conduct and safety procedures contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
- Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration school events assigned duties and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
Required/Preferred Education:
- Bachelors or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
- Certification is not required for general education
- All majors are welcome
US Work Authorization is required.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
