JuniorMid-Level IT Network Engineer

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Junior to Mid-Level Network Engineer to support critical national security network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will assist in the configuration maintenance and troubleshooting of secure LAN/WAN environments. You will work alongside senior engineers to ensure high availability security and performance of classified networks directly supporting mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities:
Network Operations: Assist in the configuration installation and maintenance of network hardware including routers switches and firewalls (e.g. Cisco Juniper Brocade).
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance utilizing enterprise management tools (such as SolarWinds) and provide Tier II/III troubleshooting support to resolve connectivity and operational issues.
Security Compliance: Implement and maintain network security protocols ensuring compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
COMSEC Management: Assist with the handling configuration and maintenance of cryptographic devices (e.g. KG series) and secure communications equipment.
Documentation: Create and update detailed network topology diagrams standard operating procedures (SOPs) and configuration records.
System Integration: Collaborate with systems administrators to ensure seamless integration across Windows Linux and VMware vSphere environments.

Qualifications:

Required:
Education: BS Engineering or related field
Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of practical experience in network administration or engineering preferably within a DoD or highly regulated environment.
Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliance (e.g. CompTIA Security CE or equivalent) is required prior to start.
Core Skills: Strong understanding of TCP/IP OSI model routing protocols (OSPF BGP) and switching technologies.

Desired:

Additional Clearances: Polygraph is highly desired.
Vendor Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA).
Systems Experience: Familiarity with Active Directory and basic server administration (Windows Server/RHEL).
