KBR is seeking a highly motivated Junior Software Engineer to join us in supporting our great nation supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) development team in Colorado Springs CO.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design development and maintenance of software for high-velocity data stream processing systems
- Support implementation of software features and enhancements under guidance from senior engineers
- Develop and maintain code using established engineering standards and best practices
- Participate in software testing activities including unit integration and system testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues in development environments
- Assist with analysis of customer requirements and contribute to software design efforts
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to build engineering knowledge
- Generate and update technical documentation and project artifacts
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support delivery objectives
Work Environment:
- Location: Colorado Springs CO 100% Onsite or Beavercreek OH 100% Onsite
- Travel Requirements: Minimal

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of software development principles and object-oriented programming concepts
- Experience through academic internship research or personal projects using Java Python or another object-oriented language
- Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts including design implementation and testing
- Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development environments
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and solve technical problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Required Education and Experience:
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret / SCI security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Mathematics or a related technical field
- 02 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Exposure to data processing systems networking or distributed computing concepts
- Familiarity with XML JSON Protocol Buffers or similar data formats
- Internship research or academic project experience developing software applications
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies
- Security certification
- Strong curiosity attention to detail and desire to continuously learn new technologies
Basic Compensation:$76500 - $114800 (For the Colorado Springs Area Only)
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge skills abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus relocation benefits short-term incentives long-term incentives or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
