ITA is seeking a Junior Project Controls Analyst to join the team supporting our Headquarters location in Newport News Virginia.

Position Summary

The Junior Project Controls Analyst supports financial contractual and operational oversight of government programs byassistingwith project planning budgeting cost tracking forecasting and reporting. Working closely with Program Managers Finance and Contracts this role helps ensure projects are executed within budget meet contractual requirements and provideaccuratefinancial and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

Project Controls & Financial Support

• SupportsProgram Managers with project planning budgetingestimatesat completionand financial performance monitoring.

• Assistsin tracking project costs laborutilization funding and expenditures against established budgets.

• Preparesrecurring financial reports cost analyses and project performance metrics.

• Monitorsproject burn rates andidentifiespotential cost or schedule variances.

• Assistswith revenue forecasting and monthly financial projections.

DeltekCostpoint Administration

• UtilizesDeltekCostpointto review project financial data labor charges budgets and funding.

• Assistswith project setup modifications labor category updates and project maintenance within Costpoint.

• Supportsreconciliation of project financial information andvalidatesdata accuracy.

• Generatesstandard and ad hoc Costpoint reports for project and executive leadership.

Government Contract Support

• Monitorscontract funding ceilingscloseoutsand periods of performance.

• Assistsin reviewing contract modifications and ensuring project data aligns with contractual requirements.

• Supportstracking of contract deliverables labor hours and funding status.

• Coordinateswith Contracts and Finance to ensureaccurateproject records.

Reporting & Analysis

• Developsandmaintainproject dashboards spreadsheets and status reports.

• Performsvariance analysis toidentifytrends and recommend corrective actions.

• Assistsin preparing executive reports and monthly project reviews.

• Supportsdata collection for financial audits and customer reporting requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partnerswith Program Managers Finance Contracts Human Resources and Business Operations to support successful project execution.

• Respondsto requests for project financial information and reporting.

• Assistswith special projects process improvements and financial analysis initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Accounting Project Management or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

• 13 years of experience supporting project controls finance accounting or government programs.

• Proficiencywith Microsoft Excel including formulas pivot tables and basic financial analysis.

• Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience usingDeltekCostpointhighly preferred

• Experience supporting federal government contracts.

• Familiarity with contract types including Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Cost-Plus and Time-and-Materials (T&M).

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI Excel dashboards or financial reporting tools.

• Basic understanding of project scheduling or earned value management concepts.

• Ability to obtain andmaintaina U.S. Government security clearance if.

Pay range for this position is $44000 - $65000 annually

This position has a broad compensation range due to the complexities of government contracting including contract pricing labor category requirements funding parameters and varying levels of candidate experience and qualifications.
