Job Summary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in education or related Ohio teaching license with the Ohio State Board of teaching experience preferably at the middle school/junior high knowledge of effective evidence-based instructional practices in mathematics and using student data to inform instruction and communication collaboration and organizational to build positive professional relationships with teachers administrators students and other stakeholders and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in support of district and building pass any required background and maintain drivers license and reliable QUALIFICATIONS:Experience serving as an instructional coach teacher leader curriculum specialist mentor teacher or similar supporting grades 7-8 knowledge of Ohios Learning Standards in mathematics and English language with high-quality instructional materials and curriculum supporting school improvement initiatives including work with targeted student with ATSI (Additional Targeted Support & Improvement) building designation I-MTSS (Integrated-Multi-Tiered System of Supports) teacher-based teams data-based decision making and instructional improvement DESCRIPTION:The Junior High Instructional Coach (Math and Literacy) will provide targeted coaching and implementation support to grades 7-8 educators in mathematics and literacy. This position is designed to support school improvement efforts connected to the buildings designation as an ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) school through the Ohio Department of Education & coach will work collaboratively with district and building leaders teachers and instructional teams to strengthen classroom instruction support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials and improve outcomes for students. The role will focus on building educator capacity through coaching cycles data analysis professional learning modeling of effective instructional practices and support for evidence-based position is intended to serve as a supportive collaborative resource to help the junior high building address identified achievement gaps improve instructional consistency and make progress toward exiting the ATSI FUNCTIONS:Instructional Coaching and Teaching SupportSupport grades 7 and 8 teachers in strengthening instruction in mathematics and literacy with a focus on improving student achievement supporting curriculum implementation and addressing the needs that contributed to the buildings ATSI ongoing job-embedded coaching to grades 7-8 teachers in mathematics and literacy/English Language coaching cycles that may include goal setting observation co-planning modeling co-teaching reflection and teachers in implementing effective instructional practices aligned to Ohios Learning high-quality mathematics and literacy instruction in classroom teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners including students with disabilities English learners gifted students and students performing below grade teachers in using formative assessment strategies to adjust instruction and improve student instructional practices that increase student engagement academic discourse critical thinking and standards-based and School Improvement SupportSupport building and district efforts to address the instructional needs connected to the schools ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) with administrators teacher teams and district leaders to align coaching efforts with the school improvement in identifying priority standards instructional gaps and student groups in need of additional monitor progress toward improvement goals through the review of student achievement data classroom implementation evidence and instructional the development and implementation of targeted strategies designed to improve outcomes for identified student in building-level team meetings teacher-based team meetings data meetings and other school improvement structures as build systems of support that contribute to sustainable improvement beyond the duration of the coaching and High-Quality Instructional Materials SupportSupport the implementation of high-quality instructional materials in mathematics and teachers with understanding curriculum design lesson structure pacin and instructional teachers make effective use of curriculum-embedded assessments and instructional alignment between curriculum standards instruction assessment and teachers in maintaining the integrity of adopted instructional materials while making approaching instructional adjustments based on student with district curriculum leaders to ensure consistent implementation across Analysis and Instructional PlanningSupport teachers and teams in analyzing student performance data to identify strengths gaps and instructional with use of benchmark diagnostic formative summative and state assessment data to inform teams develop targeted instructional plans based on student progress monitoring processes for students receiving additional intervention or teachers in using data to group students plan interventions and measure the effectiveness of instructional Learning and CollaborationSupport district curriculum leaders in the design and facilitation of professional learning aligned to building and district improvement support during team meetings collaborative planning sessions and professional learning evidence-based instructional strategies and resources with teachers and and maintain positive trusting and professional relationships with school personnel families and other -create with teachers a nurturing environment that promotes as an active team player and maintains with ESC (Educational Service Center) consultants/curriculum specialists SST (State Support Team) consultants and other regional partners as Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport Integrated-Multi-Tiered System of Supports (I-MTSS) practices related to mathematics and identify professional learning needs based on classroom observations and student documentation of coaching activities goals and updates to district leadership regarding implementation progress and areas of all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and and actively participate in professional learning opportunities and meetings as all duties in conformity to the adopted vision and mission professional appearance at all required certificate(s) and/or license(s).Demonstrate regular and predictable confidentiality of privileged understand and abide by the Ohio Revised Codes regulations for reporting child abuse and other duties related to instructional coaching curriculum implementation and school improvement as SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrate knowledge of effective mathematics and literacy instruction Ohios Learning Standards high-quality instructional materials assessment practices data-based decision making I-MTSS (Integrated-Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and school improvement strong skills in instructional coaching professional learning facilitation curriculum implementation support data analysis collaboration and the ability to support adult learners model effective instructional practices provide actionable feedback monitor progress toward improvement goals and work collaboratively with district and building leaders to improve student outcomes and support the schools efforts to exit ATSI the ability to effectively use technology; interpret policies procedures and regulations; lift/move up to 80 OPERATED:ESC or district-provided equipment (e.g. printer copier scanner laminator calculator fax machine postage meter phone system audio/visual equipment computers and mobile
