Job Type: Full-Time Contract to Hire
Pay Rate:$30/hour (based on experience)
Skillforce is currently hiring an experienced Journeyman Mason for restoration and commercial masonry projects in Dubuque IA. This role focuses on historic restoration repair and rehabilitation of masonry structures requiring strong craftsmanship and attention to detail.
This is a great opportunity to work on unique high-visibility projects involving historic and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Perform brick block and stone masonry work
Complete tuckpointing/repointing mortar matching and joint repair
Repair damaged or deteriorated masonry structures
Assist with masonry restoration cleaning and waterproofing
Work on facades chimneys and architectural masonry elements
Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
Maintain a safe and clean job site
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
4 years of masonry experience (journeyman-level preferred)
Strong background in commercial or restoration masonry
Experience with tuckpointing and mortar matching
Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions
Proficient with masonry tools and equipment
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in historic restoration projects
Knowledge of various mortar types and restoration techniques
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
