Job Summary

MalaceHR is seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our facilities maintenance team at a college addition to electrical work the individual in this role will be responsible for general facilities maintenance to ensure the campus buildings and grounds are safe functional and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical systems and equipment as well as perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems. Wage: $25-33/Hour


Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Work:

    • Install maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting wiring circuit breakers and outlets.

    • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide corrective action in a timely manner.

    • Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with local building codes safety regulations and industry standards.

    • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

  • Facilities Maintenance:

    • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on campus buildings including plumbing HVAC lighting and general repairs.

    • Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.

    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and ensure proper use of equipment.

    • Respond promptly to facilities-related requests from campus departments and staff.

    • Perform minor carpentry drywall painting and other maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols and procedures ensuring the safe operation of electrical and maintenance equipment.

    • Participate in safety training and maintain knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.

    • Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and other safety practices for electrical work and general maintenance tasks.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Work closely with campus administration faculty and staff to ensure timely completion of work orders.

    • Keep detailed records of all electrical and maintenance activities including inspections repairs and replacements.

    • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and maintain a positive and professional demeanor.


Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:

    • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent experience.

    • Experience with general facilities maintenance tasks (plumbing HVAC carpentry etc.) is highly preferred.

    • Previous experience working in a campus or large institutional setting is a plus.

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems building codes and safety protocols.

    • Proficient in the use of electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.

    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials as needed.
