Journeyman Electrician

Job purpose

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This role will perform hands-on trade work ensure compliance with safety and building codes and provide guidance to apprentices. This position requires strong technical expertise problem-solving ability and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over a decade.

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform skilled trade work in accordance with industry standards codes and company policies.
• Read and interpret blueprints technical diagrams and schematics.
• Inspect electrical components such as transformers circuit breakers and switches to ensure proper operation.
• Install repair maintain and troubleshoot systems fixtures or equipment relevant to the trade.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality safety and compliance
• Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes standards and regulations (e.g. NEC OSHA).
• Troubleshoot and repair control systems lighting systems and power distribution equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs inspections and installations.
• Follow all safety procedures wear protective gear and use lockout/tagout protocols when necessary.
• Collaborate with other trade supervisors team members and departments to complete projects on schedule.
• Train mentor and oversee apprentices as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program.
• Reliable Transportation and aValid FL Driver Licence
• Valid Journeyman Electrician License in the State of FL.
• Proven experience as a Journeyman in the field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems wiring and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
• Proficient in using electrical tools meters and testing devices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments (confined spaces heights outdoors and in various weather conditions).
