Key Responsibilities

Principle Duties

This is a journey level job. Incumbents perform a widevariety of skilled maintenance/construction duties requiring independentability to organize and complete maintenance or construction projectsincluding technical consultation and limited design work materials and costestimates plus compliance with applicable codes.A Journey MaintenanceSpecialist may:

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems makes adjustments repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on computers equipment or machinery etc.
  • Provides technical consultation to originators of project job orders including development of project plans and related estimates.
  • Builds fabricates or repairs structures equipment and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions blueprints and/or working drawings.
  • Welds solders brazes grinds and/or fabricates various materials.
  • Paints finishes and refinishes wood metal and other materials.
  • Performs general facility maintenance including painting carpentry masonry plumbing electrical as well as general cleaning and sanitation.
  • Performs related plumbing mechanical painting and pipe fitting etc. duties.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Thebest qualified candidate for this position will have 3 or more years ofexperience in facility/building maintenance or an equivalentcombination of relevant education trade school experience or other hands-onmechanical and/or electrical systems maintenance experience may be consideredin place of the facility/building maintenance requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be applied to applicants who reside within 50miles or 1 hour travel time to our location.

Additional consideration for candidates withexperience in:

  • Electrical systems.
  • Heating and cooling systems.
  • Culinary and waste water piping systems.
  • Reading schematic drawings.
  • Working with computer controls

Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs climb ladders work in confined areas bend and crouch and work with hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to see and hear.

Must be available for On Call.
