The candidate will oversee the day-to-day field operations for elevator modernization projects including hydraulic geared and gearless installations. This role is responsible for managing field technicians participating in field surveys for prospective modernization work and supporting the development of project scopes proposals and bids. The individual must be able to accurately assess scope of work manpower requirements and timelines to ensure projects are completed safely on schedule and profitably. A strong working knowledge of elevator equipment and parts is preferred along with the ability to identify source and order the correct components for each phase of a project.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Lead and build a collaborative high-performing team of field technicians
- Manage training and development in accordance with established processes tools and standards
- Promote clear communication while maintaining strong working relationships with local union partners
- Ensure all modernization projects meet Company safety quality and contractual requirements
- Monitor job progress completion and productivity to drive operational efficiency
- Implement Company and customer standards related to quality performance reliability and passenger safety
- Support the sales team with modernization estimates bids and resolution of customer concerns
- Foster a culture of teamwork accountability and commitment to quality
- Participate in Company professional development programs to maintain and expand knowledge of products services and procedures
- Bachelors degree preferred or a minimum of three years of technical experience in the elevator industry or a related field
- Experience with elevator and/or escalator installation and service preferred
- Prior supervisory experience managing a unionized workforce preferred
- Strong computer proficiency required; experience with Microsoft Office Lotus Notes and SAP preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
