Job Coach Durant High School

Purpose: To remove barriers to success for Special Population Students expanding opportunities for employment and economic self-sufficiency.

Job Duties:

1. Develop Information Documents that include mission purpose and benefits of Work-Based Learning for Employers

2. Develop Information Documents that include mission purpose and benefits for students

3. Develop partnerships with area businesses to provide approved worksites for students

4. Engage students with area businesses by providing coaching feedback and demonstration of skill development tasks

5. Participate in the process of matching individuals to employment or vocational opportunities

6. Meet with employers to develop potential work opportunities

7. Ensure students are appropriately groomed and attired for employment of task assignment

8. Provide constructive feedback to students regarding plan goals community employer expectations and development of skills to obtain and maintain competitive employment

9. Deliver work adjustment training to assist employed students to improve work skills work behaviors interpersonal skills and ethics to maintain employment

10. Promote communication with community contacts community work site co-workers local agencies and state offices

11. Assist in accurate completion of required documentation for DRS reimbursement

Qualifications:

1. College Degree in Education preferred

2. Work Experience Required

3. Valid Drivers License in good standing required

4. Self-motivated and detail-oriented

5. Reliable responsible and willing to help others

6. Ability to work with students with disabilities

7. Good communication skills
