Were looking for another outstanding people person with a background in farming landscaping and carpentry to be part of our dynamic vocational services program. At Prospect Meadow Farm everyone is hands-onfrom planting cultivating and harvesting crops; to feeding watering and grooming the animals; to performing landscaping work at the farm and throughout the community.
- Work alongside farmhands to coach and support them in various aspects of their daily work.
- Collaborate with other staff on the team to provide the best therapeutic work environment.
- Develop progress notes describing each individuals contact and how that contact relates to treatment goals.
- Use hand tools such as shovels trowels hoes shears and other tools as needed.
- Use power lawnmowers leaf blowers and garden clippers and other necessary tools.
- Tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting weeding thinning or pruning crops; cleaning packing and loading harvested products.
- Feed and water animals clean cages and tanks and perform any other necessary clean up.
- Perform grooming such as washing fur trimming nails and first aid such as attending to minor cuts.
- Perform a variety of tasks necessary to achieve a pleasant and functional outdoor environment. Mow lawns rake leaves trim hedges and trees; plant flowers and otherwise ensure that the grounds of the farm are attractive orderly and healthy.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience in the human service or related field preferred.
- Experience with the use of gardening tools and landscaping machinery.
- Valid drivers license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
- Ability to physically perform all tasks.
- $19/hr starting rate.
