Job Title: Java / COBOL Integration Developer 8 Years

Location: Albany NY (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• Extensive experience in planning designing developing and executing test strategies based on software requirements for large-scale web-based applications within complex Human Services environments (Federal State and Local Government) including systems with 100 screens and extensive cross-field validations.
• Strong experience in designing and developing enterprise application solutions using Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) 3.x including Stateless and Stateful Session Beans and implementing Container Managed Transactions (CMT) for efficient and reliable transaction management.
• Hands-on experience integrating external systems such as FPLS and SPLS for secure and compliant data exchange ensuring reliable file transmission and enterprise-level system interoperability. Developed RESTful and SOAP-based web services to expose and consume external data sources for seamless system integration.
• Extensive experience integrating Hibernate ORM with Java applications including resolving complex Hibernate 6 migration challenges such as entity mapping issues DTO mismatches inheritance conflicts and null-handling problems across enterprise modules.
• Strong experience analyzing business processes and workflows to enhance system efficiency and support application improvements. Developed and maintained data files for Local Processing Center (LPC) document generation processes and collaborated closely with LPC teams to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth processing workflows.
• Experience developing Java-based applications integrated with legacy COBOL mainframe systems using Unisys DTPRA connectors enabling secure and reliable data exchange between distributed Java applications and mainframe environments.
• Proven experience designing and developing Document Generation (DOCGEN) modules for state government enterprise applications using Java Hibernate EJB and REST/SOAP web services to support automated document processing and end-to-end business workflow execution.
• Experience working in government enterprise application environments supporting public sector systems with secure data processing regulatory compliance and seamless integration between legacy mainframe systems and modern distributed architectures.
• Strong experience working with server-side templating engines such as FreeMarker for dynamic document generation along with PDF rendering tools and JasperReports for enterprise-level reporting solutions.
• Experience developing financial accounting modules using Struts 2 MVC framework implementing action-based workflows for account management payment processing and intake submission within state government child support enterprise systems.
